About

I’m a writer and illustrator of children’s books - and I love chatting about stories, so please come and say hello on my Substack newsletter or on Instagram!

After illustrating 14 picture books I took a much needed break from my old style of illustration, and began to spend more time working in sketchbooks and developing my own stories. I was inspired by some brilliant courses run by Bloomsbury, Arvon, Orange Beak Studio and the Good Ship Illustration, thanks to an Arts Council England grant.

I now take a sketchbook everywhere and draw anything! I love exploring the magic of imaginary worlds and creatures, of discovery and bravery, of places that we love and of finding lost things.

I work in my studio in Gloucestershire, UK, where I live with my husband and three children. I also work part time in a primary school, supporting children 1:1, and run art workshops in schools, museums and arts centres.

Clients include Quarto, Child’s Play, Pearson, Jelly Cat, Bayard, House of Illustration and Read for Good.
